12 Lotus Flower Seamless Patterns on Brown Paper

The lotus is a perennial aquatic flowering plant and usually blooms from spring through fall. Individual flowers last a few days but are quickly replaced with new blooms. Lotus leaves grow above the water, unlike the leaves of water lilies that float on the surface. (Note: We just released a set of Lotus Flowers Photoshop Brushes, in case you are interested to get them as well. Like these patterns, the brushes are also free to download.)

Lotus has been a popular choice for tattoos and logos because it symbolizes rebirth, growth and purification of spirit. This meaning comes from the fact that lotus grows at the bottom of muddy ponds then rises to the top with beautiful flowers. It is therefore like the rising of a human being from the darkness of the world into a new way of thinking and living.

Lotus is one of the most common symbols of Buddhism and represents the stages of enlightenment. Depending on its color, a lotus flower has significant meaning in Budhism. For example, white lotus symbolizes being pure in body, mind and spirit while red represents love, compassion, passion and other heart-centered emotions, so on and so forth.

In this post, we are giving away a set of 12 seamless background pattern designs featuring lotus in different colors and arrangement. To make them more interesting, we added brown paper texture as background. These patterns repeat seamlessly when used as pattern (.pat) in Photoshop. Thus, they are ideal as background for websites or to fill any shape and canvas.

Included in the download pack is the Photoshop .PAT file. For those who have no Photoshop program, you have the option to download the high-res image pack/digital paper. They are sized at 12×12 inches at 300 DPI–big enough to use even as background for your scrapbooks. You may also use these backgrounds for party invitation cards, for birthday invitation card, postcards, among others.
